Mobile Weather
NewsAs a result of the severe wintry weather we have recently experienced I have now implemented a Mobile webpage which you can access from your mobile phone.

The address is http://www.agfalkirk.co.uk/mobile/

Providing you have internet facility on your mobile phone you should be able to view this page. Information contained on this page provides details of the current weather conditions, road conditions and a basic weather forecast.

I do hope you will find this of use should the poor weather conditions return.

SCMA Buzz Xmas Fun Day
OutingsOn the 8th December myself and two little ones attended the Xmas Fun Day at the Buzz in Falkirk which was arranged by the Scottish Child Minding Association.
The kids enjoyed unlimited play in the Soft Play areas. The event looks like it was a great success and hopefully it will run again next year.
We had some very happy parents later in the day as the two little ones were shattered after all that running around.
Thank you SCMA

Cavity Wall Insulation
NewsA couple of weeks ago we had cavity wall insulation installed on the property and have found that the house is much warmer for longer. Thankfully, this was done before the cold snap of late and it has benefited not only us but all the minded children. I'd like to apologise for the noise and mess when this was being undertaken.

Weather Station
NewsWe now have our own weather station.
The children will learn about the weather and helps predict whether or not snow is likely or not since our altitude is 120m we are more likely to see snow than the centre of Falkirk and have struggled some years due to quantities of snow.
Also having the weather station available on this site, allows parents and carers to check our local weather conditions in case of severe weather or providing their children with the appropriate clothing to suit the current conditions. I do hope you will find this of benefit and should you like to know further information that is available then please visit www.scotweather.co.uk.

Blackness Castle
OutingsA group of us went to Blackness Castle on the 5th August 2009. The weather was superb with plenty of sunshine and warm too.
I wouldn't recommend taking small children to visit the inside of the castle as there are lots of rocks, uneven staircases and high drops. However, the exterior of the castle is perfect for even small children to relax, play and eat. Blackness has some lovely small beaches very near it and is ideal for beach combing. We will not be visiting the castle interior again with small children.
Once we left the interior of the castle we enjoyed eating our lunch at one of the handful of tables provided. The kids enjoyed a kick around game of football and even some Italian tourists joined in the fun by kicking the ball back to the kids when it went too far. It was so nice we all had some lovely ice cream too.

Edinburgh Zoo
OutingsWe've been to Edinburgh Zoo on the 28th July 2009 and thankfully the weather was just about perfect. Not too hot and sunny with the occasional shower to keep us cool.
We got to see the tiger close up and personal as it was lazing around right at the window. We also watched the penguin parade, saw the baby pygmy hippo and the rhino's lazing in their jacuzzi. So a totally fun day all round. Bit of a late return due to all the problems with traffic caused by roads being closed for the tram works. Other than that what a fabulous day. The children which went to the zoo couldn't stop talking about their trip away for about a week after. Well worth doing again !

Maintenance Work July 2009
NewsJust to keep you updated with regards to the rear decked area. We have now used a liquid treatment which is pet, human and eco friendly on the decking. We are hoping this treatment will reduce the amount of algae growth in some areas which allows the decking to become extremely slippery when wet. We shall also be applying another treatment and staining in the next couple of weeks.
The front of the property has also been treated with a pressure wash to remove built up grime with particular attention being made to the porch area and driveway.
The fencing to the front of the property has now been repaired after a football was kicked against it and knocking off one panel.
The boiler maintenance unfortunately, had to be cancelled however, a new appointment will be made as soon as possible.

Summer Trips 2009
OutingsJust a quick update!
The kids and I have already been on some exciting trips out including Soft Play and Ten Pin Bowling.
Two weeks ago we also took a trip to the cinema to see Ice Age 3D. What an excellent movie and the kids were totally engrossed with it and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Our trip to the ten pin bowling was also a great success with the youngest of our group at 4 years old winning the game over 4 other kids and I.
We are planning on visiting Blackness Castle and Edinburgh Zoo over the next couple of weeks.
